Conducting Research to Enhance Assessment & Treatment through Innovation in Mental Health

Welcome to the UW CREATIV Lab.

Do More, Feel Better

A CREATIV Lab program focused on training lay health coaches to provide an evidence-based Behavioral Activation intervention for older adults with depression. Learn how this program can be hosted in senior centers and other aging care organizations and how it can help.

The overarching mission of the CREATIV Lab is to promote access to and engagement with high quality, evidence-based mental health care for people who are underserved by the healthcare system.

We draw upon the latest advances in neuroscience, technology, and psychological science to develop targeted and streamlined behavioral interventions that any clinician can provide and that are readily available to a broad array of patients. The lab is led by Patrick Raue, PhD, and is housed in the University of Washington Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. It was founded by Patricia Areán, PhD.
